Under Windows, the plugin does not want to run with more recent than 2.14, the version of GTK+. After the launch Pidgin he was not in the list of plugins, but on closer examination it turned out that the problem is some kind of function… In general, did not understand, gathered with 2.14 – and nice.

I waited a long time reaction from Pidgin developers the proposal to make in the header files functions responsible for working with the Emotions, but no answer came.
Therefore we had to release something that is, ie I just added to the code plugin code from the corresponding source file of the client. But now you can change the emotions from the status menu 🙂

Strange bug

On Friday, one user reported that “when the pidgin main menu hidden not working hotkeys (ctrl + q to exit, in particular).” I tried to solve this problem at home, but… found that everything works just fine, ie fault is not apparent! However, coming to work today with sadness discovered that, yes, on the work computer is malfunctioning.

Release will not be until I decide this problem 🙁

I think the problem lies in the GTK, because hotkeys fall off if main menu widget is hidden, although they belong gtkblist->window, but not gtkblist->ift. At home computer may be version GTK, different from the version installed at work.

Maybe tomorrow – new version

I have just adopted a decision to quit wasting time trying to avoid the message:
GLib-GObject: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
under certain conditions, after creating the widget pidgin_status_box_new_with_account ().
It is clear that the error in the implementation of the widget (he did some unfinished, even there is no indentation, similar gtkblist-> statusbox:)), but for the past two weeks, as I have tried various methods to avoid the appearance of this message.
Else everything was ready, maybe tomorrow I will release version 1.9. Wait! 🙂

Works in progress

Time categorically not enough work at work waiting for me from vacation and I had it to work 🙂
At the moment it became a little easier and work on plug-in continues.
Me is scheduled as follows:

1. The solution to the deb-file, after installing the plugin from which the SO-file is not in the directory in which the general case should be.
2. Adding to the output settings on the main menu option to disable menu appears by pressing Alt.
3. Adding settings define how the change of status – through standard Statusbox or through the menu.
4. Update German translation.
5. Addition of Czech translation.

I’d already done everything, even changed the text on the Russian version of the relevant pages, but as soon as it came to filling the site files, it appeared that either the provider (Beeline) brake, whether hoster (masterhost) and add the files well, can not do it. Discussions with the technical support of both the situation is not clarified – “we have all the normal, check your program”.

I managed to upload a new version today. What can not but rejoice, because tomorrow if possible, may not be. And if it will be, will there be enough power? 🙂

In this release all sorts of tasty. But this is all the details on the background of plans for the next release, the chief of which – do change the status of human beings, through the context menu. But the new version I perturbation not earlier than one week – at work already ominously eyeing, at the forum server CS castigated for failing, in addition, I want to try to write a review of the illuminated keyboard. Reviews are not already written about five years!

The new version of TooBars is ready!

Behind the plugin TooButtons has been updated and TooBars. Now he works in version Pidgin for Windows.
Making it compile and work properly was worth much less effort than expected.
It is noteworthy that as soon as last Friday managed to get the first working version, I got a letter in the mail from Mr. Konrad Graefe (hope I spelled his name as a mail message it shows up plain wrong), who sent his pre-compiled version of this plugin, all the files needed to compile and a short statement. He also proposed to install a new version of GTK+ library instead of the provisions to version 2.6.6. After this advice on the buttons panel earned. But I did not clean up some added directives, so this version should be the normal way and compiled under older versions of GTK+.
Also over the weekend came in the mail the localization file in German, signed Siggi0904 and Dirtsa.
Thank you very much for the help in the development and support! Nice to know that what began as something like a dubious experiment in programming exercises has become the form of a holistic project that needed people. Thank you!
